Meal Times

We are delighted to consistently receive a Five Star rating from Rushcliffe Borough Council Environmental Health officers for our food hygiene and safety standards. Five Star ratings mean "a sparkling business meeting or exceeding industry standards".

Our cook takes great care to ensure that all the meals provided are nutritious and meet a well-balanced diet. All food provided is prepared and cooked on the premises. All our meat is supplied by Clive Lancaster Butchers based in Bingham, Nottinghamshire – their produce is of exceptional quality.

Lunch is served in two sittings. Children who spend just the morning at nursery will eat at 11.45am. Children attending nursery for a full day will eat at 12.15pm. Our menu is varied and consists of a hot lunch, followed by a hot or cold desert. Water is available freely during lunch, and all meals have a vegetarian alternative where appropriate. We endeavour to cater for any child’s dietary needs.

A light tea is served in two sittings at 4.00pm and 4.20pm. This meal usually consists of a selection of sweet and savoury sandwiches, crumpets, teacakes, beans/cheese-on-toast, salad, raw vegetables, cubes of cheese, fresh fruit, raisins, a few crisps, a biscuit or cake, or an individual pot of yoghurt. We serve 'no added sugar' juice with this meal.

A piece of fresh fruit or a savoury snack is served with milk or water at 10.45am. Milk or water is served again at 3.15pm. Fresh drinking water is available all day for the children.

The children sit at tables with a member of staff, where they are helped and guided to learn table skills to encourage independence.
