Primary School
Wondering where to send your child after Millfield? In September 2007 we established Colston Bassett Preparatory School – a co-educational primary school for children aged 4-11 years, offering full-time education from Reception to the end of Year 6.
Our school is a small, independent primary school located in the beautiful village of Colston Bassett on the Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire border. We are situated in a picturesque, rural setting and take full advantage of our unspoiled surroundings, offering our pupils a unique and distinctive approach to education where traditional family values underpin everything we do.
As a small school, we are able to provide individual attention to our children within small classes. We strongly believe this is invaluable to their educational and personal development. Children are encouraged to work to the best of their abilities without being constrained by a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Each child’s particular needs are met and all aspects of development (creative, emotional, moral, spiritual, intellectual and physical) are encouraged.
We offer a wealth of teaching experience that enriches the pupils’ school day. We hold traditional values dear, and are unashamedly proud of our finest ambassadors – our children. We highly value the relationship we have with parents and families.
Please view the school’s website and click on the Testimonials button to give you a flavour of our very special school.
Pay us a visit to absorb the positive, happy atmosphere and to find out more about this unique school. It is only then that you will be able to fully appreciate what our school can offer you and your child.
If parents choose to take up a place at Colston Bassett Preparatory School, children start school in the September of academic year in which their fifth birthday falls.
