Fitness and Fun

Millfield offers weekly dance, sport and exercise classes to all children at no extra cost.

Each week a motivational sports leader from Urban Movement Primary, visits Millfield and promotes learning through a variety of sporting activities and challenges aimed at developing the motor abilities of Agility, Balance and Co- ordination. These ‘ABCs’ are useful as they form the basics of all sports and physical activities.

Each session is centred in developing fitness and fundamental movement skills. And because it’s fun, the children don’t realise they are practising and learning new skills!

Meal Times

Our cook takes great care to ensure that all the meals provided are nutritious and meet a well-balanced diet. All our meals are prepared and cooked on the premises.

Lunch is served in two sittings in the main nursery — 11.45am for our younger children and 12.15pm for the pre-school children. Our menu is varied and consists of a hot lunch, followed by a desert.

A light tea is served in two sittings at 4.00pm and 4.20pm.

Fresh fruit is served with milk or water at 10.00am. Milk or water is served again along with a savoury snack such as crackers, bread sticks or rice cakes at 3.00pm. Fresh drinking water is available all day.

The children sit at tables with a member of staff, where they are helped and guided to learn table skills to encourage independence.

We continue to hold a five-star rating from Rushcliffe Borough Council Environmental Health officers for our food hygiene and safety standards.

Primary School

Our independent primary school, Colston Bassett School, was established in 2007 to give parents the option to continue their child's educational journey with the Millfield family when they reach the age of four.

Our school is located in the beautiful nearby village of Colston Bassett on the Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire border, only a five-minute drive from Millfield.

The school is situated in a picturesque, rural location on the edge of the village and we take full advantage of our unspoiled surroundings, offering our pupils a unique and distinctive approach to education where traditional family values underpin everything we do.
